The name change comes as a result of new ownership of the team which was bought by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta. The Indian celebrity is also the co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.

Drakenstein Councillor, Rean Smuts said that the upcoming tournament is “the perfect opportunity to show the world what we have to offer”.
One of the Kings’ big name players, and Bolad local, Henry Davids is confident that the tournament and team will unearth talent in the region: “I’m 100% certain this region will produce many more Charl Langeveldts, Henry Williams and Justin Ontongs”
