The vehicle, a red Subaru Forester, was found at the bottom of the quarry on the corner of Paul Kruger and Bird Street in Stellenbosch on the morning of Monday, 24 October.
Ethan Kirkland (19) and Leila Lees (18) were last seen on Friday night, when they left The Niche apartment complex where Kirkland resides. Family and friends reported the two missing on Saturday, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) have been searching for them since.
At the time of publication, Stellenbosch SAPS and the fire department were on the scene.
