The Palesa Theatre Festival competition continues to be a platform for Stellenbosch University student communities to showcase their theatrical abilities. The annual competition final, held at Drostdy Theatre in Stellenbosch on 11 May, consisted of six performances with a range of genres, including drama, action and comedy. This is according to Michaela Eichel, the vice-chairperson of KuKo, the arts and culture division of the Stellenbosch University student representative council. Venustia, a commuter student community, placed first overall with their play titled The Brooms have Unionised.Â
