Over 100 students, members of the public, and members of the South African Students Congress’ (SASCO) Tsietsi Mashinini branch recently met in Stellenbosch to discuss access to education in South African universities.
The meeting, held on 9 May, marked the first opportunity of the year for students and members of the public to participate and engage in a SASCO organised discussion, according to Avuzwa Gana, chairperson of SASCO’s Tsietsi Mashinini branch. South African deputy-president, Paul Mashatile, was scheduled as the keynote speaker, but was unable to attend due to urgent matters in KwaZulu-Natal, according to Gana.
