Stellenbosch Football Club (SFC) and Stellenbosch University (SU) have collaborated to form the first professional women’s football team in Stellenbosch. “The team will be playing in the 2024 SASOL Women’s league B”, said head coach, Nathan Peskin.
The club’s vision is to build a sustainable football pathway for the region, and to be a catalyst for social upliftment, according to SFC CEO Rob Benadie. Both SFC and SU hope that Stellenbosch will become a hub for female footballers in the country and a platform where they can thrive on and off the field.
