Stellenbosch Wine Routes recently announced a campaign to plant 1 000 trees by the end of 2024, by asking each of the 130 wine farms that are members of Stellenbosch Wine Routes to plant trees – particularly oak trees – on their premises.
A student is suspected of stealing from vendors at the Dorp Street Sunday market in Stellenbosch. SAPS confirmed opening a case after eyewitness Raaiq Schroeder reported observing the theft. The suspect, seen frequently at markets, was confronted by stall operators after theft was detected, with evidence including a student card photo and possession of stolen items. Security services and SAPS responded to the incident.
