The Toyota SU Woordfees is an annual arts festival that takes place in Stellenbosch. While displaying a variety of performances and exhibitions ranging from theatre productions to panel discussions and almost anything in between, one would think that the festival would attract a diverse audience. However, despite being a student town, SMF News couldn’t help but notice a lack of variety in the festival attendees. As such, we created a podcast discussing the topic of the demographic of Woordfees and the possible reasons for it.
Amy and Thameenah spoke to Woordfees officials, festival attendees, and Stellenbosch University students to hear their perspectives.
